Nestled on Main Street in Toronto's Upper Beaches, Anima Romana brings the warmth of Italy to a Roman-soul neighbourhood corner. From flaky croissants to mouthwatering pizza, fresh sourdough breads and decadent desserts — every dish tells a story of love, passion, and tradition.

We opened our little doors, and every three feet of counter walked us closer to something bigger than a bakery: a place where friends of the family drop in for a slice, and neighbours stay for one more espresso.

Sheila & Dulce.
The duo behind the dough.

Anima Romana has a mother-and-daughter kitchen at its centre. Sheila — Roman by heart, baker by hand — starts sourdough at first light. Dulce works the counter, the espresso machine and the family calendar that keeps this place moving.

Meeting the two of them is meeting the bakery. They have every intention of pinning something wonderful onto every plate — and every reason to reach for the family, day after day.

When we invite you in for pizza al taglio, we mean it — a fresh cut of Italy right here in Toronto, because we cannot wait to share our passion with you.
